Project maniacs Get freaked out

Long and laborious were the days of exam schedule. Once it was over a sigh of relief was evident on the faces of our gang- Anton, Rony, Saneen, Akhil, saiby, Nithin. Somehow or other we slipped in to a slumber. Then our guiding light, Dr.T.M Jacob come forward with a plan to boost the practical experience of his disciples.  We get an opportunity to work with Rajagiri on a project in collaboration with KERA FED. It gives a bird eye view on the standard of living and the socio-economic aspects of retail dealers of tender coconut in the various parts of Cochin.
We the youngsters set out for this venture thinking that it would provide an opportunity to come in contact with the ‘Hot Chicks’ of cochin.  Fortunately or unfortunately when that came to practice it was not that easy. We wandered through the rushy streets of the town in searching that to collect sufficient data.
We came into contact with people from different walks of life. We could get an acquaintance with nook and corner of the city. We met with people of different culture and language. The study was aimed at investigating the socio economic background of the retail dealers. We use the snow balling technique. The query was simple and we hope we could make a successful attempt to exploring various aspects of coconut retail dealings.
Anyhow we were not reluctant to spend the leisure time in OBERON mall, Fort-Kochi, marine Drive for “sight-seeing”. Though we planned only for a funny game in the beginning, it resulted in a fruitful endeavor towards the end.

Multi-dimensional scaling of Mid-segment cars

Perceptual mapping (Multi-dimensional mapping) is a multi variate statistical technique used by market researchers to visually display the feature of a product.  The position of a product is displayed in relative to similar products in the market. The main advantage of this technique is that we can able to incorporate a no. of features for constructing the similarity.
The analysis included in this blog is an attempt to appraise similarity or dissimilarity among the 21 mid segment auto mobile cars in India. For the analysis we have included 25 variables related to dimensions, performance, price, safety and special features. Values of these variables are obtained from www.gaadi.com.
Analysis of this data is conducted in IBM SPSS Ver.19.  this analysis yield a high degree of accuracy for  R-square and stress. The relative position of the mid segment cars are given in the graph given below.
